I would like to inform everyone that the current lifetime pass to most national parks in the United States is $10.  This cost will increase to an annual fee of $20 on August 20; once you have purchased four $20 annual passes, you will receive a lifetime pass, or you can purchase a lifetime pass for $80.

To take advantage of the current $10 fee, you must go to the Bureau of Land Management, Five Partners Place, 201 Stephenson Parkway, Norman, telephone 405-579-7100.  They do not have the cards at this time, but you will receive a receipt for payment and the card will be mailed to you or you will be called to pick up.

Please note:  If you lose your card, you must pay the regular fee to replace.

For those in other states, contact your Bureau of Land Management for instructions on how you can purchase a lifetime pass before the August 20 deadline.

We are gathering information on the possibility of a charter bus trip to Branson, MO, next November (probably the week following Thanksgiving, 3-4 day trip).  The package will probably include tickets to the Dixie Stampede (dinner and show), and the Show Boat (dinner).

In order to make plans, we have to start early and need to know if there is enough interest in participating.  We had some members sign up at our December meeting, but ask that if you are interested, please attend our January meeting on Tuesday, January 10, 7:00 p.m., AFGE Local 916, 7125 South Air Depot Boulevard.  After we know how many are interested, I can talk with the charter people to develop an itinerary and a price per individual.  Hope to see you in January!

Vice Chairman
